Insulation Resistance Testing for PV Systems

This two-hour course, produced in partnership with AVO Training Institute, provides an in-depth overview of insulation resistance testing for PV systems and an interactive 3D environment for students to perform the test on a virtual PV array. 

In the self-paced course, Mayfield Renewables Founder Ryan Mayfield explains relevant electrical concepts, codes, and standards before detailing the full test process, from arriving on-site to documenting and analyzing results. 

Students will learn the insulation test process through a mix of conceptual overviews with 2D illustrations, in-field videos of the test being performed on a real PV array, and an interactive 3D walkthrough where students will get to click through a virtual PV array to perform the test themselves.

• Code references to insulation resistance tests
• Documentation, PPE, and safety checks required before testing
• Step-by-step test process
• Guidance on troubleshooting and documentation

All course registrants will have access to all course materials, including videos, diagrams, and the course PDF. 

Registrants are also eligible to receive 2 hours of NABCEP CEUs upon course completion.
